Mothership XI : Sunlit Edition - Eyeshadow Palette

It’s Alright

I’m most likely returning this palette which is sad as I collect the motherships (with the exception of the divine rose II and subliminal as it was sold out for a while) and there definitely is something different with the four main glitters, a lot more patchy and coarse feeling. I usually love the palettes but I feel like if you have most of her palettes you have all the shades that this palette offers. I was able to find near EXACT matches of the eyeshadows from this palette in previous motherships/holiday launches. With that being said I would save the money, because even with 20% discount I cannot justify keeping this if the other palettes I have contain the same shades. And I usually try to talk myself into keeping things.. but this is a hard no. I would look into the other eye/cheek palette as it has some greens that are not usually a part of her colour stories.

WORTH EVERY PENNY

Omg I’m obsessed with this palette! There are mattes, shimmers, and duo chrome glitters. All the colors were ultra smooth, silky, and easy to blend. I recommended using your fingers for the shimmers and glitters for more concentration of the color. If you use a brush, wet it. You don’t need eyeshadow primer, but with it, the colors pop even more! The duo chrome glitters surprised me with how soft in texture they are bc I’m used to glitters being chunky with a lot of fall out. No, these have been ground to a super soft pressed silk. They go on with one swipe and shine all day long! I especially love the color Astral Pink Fetish! It has a BEAUTIFUL gold shimmer and when you move around different colors and shine peek through. Pics don’t do it justice, try it in store and fall in love. I’m about to go get the mothership palettes now.

Beautiful pinks and shimmers

This palette is gorgeous. It’s my first Pat palette so maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about but all the shades are gorgeous and work well together. It definitely runs warmer pinky. I had no issues with the palette being dry or not blending well. The packaging is also very substantial and feels luxurious.

Terrible Fall Out and Palette is Dried Up

I have purchased Pat McGrath eye shadows before and absolutely loved the colors in this palette. I didn't mind the cost because Pat McGrath always puts out quality merchandise. Well, not this one. the colors crumble when picking them up with a brush and even worse with your finger. It's like the tray is dried out. plus the amount of glitter fall out is the worst of any product I've ever used. What happened!?!? Terrible, terrible product. My cheap Morphe palette delivers better pigment with zero fall out. So very disappointed.

Long Awaited Perfect Colors

I haven't gotten a new eyeshadow palette in a while, being my favorite was the Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette, and for a while I wanted something similar to the colors I used in that palette and this one matched perfectly to the colors I use on a daily basis. The glitters are everything I have ever wanted and even though I have it, I'll always stop and switch the colors just to be amazed over and over. The colors blend well and I can create all of my daily and glam looks with it.

Not the same formula

The formula for the rightmost "special" shades I not as special in this one. They are not as sparkly and multi dimensional as the earlier palettes from the mothership line. Overall a usable palette still but the quality has gone down, which is crazy considering the price.

Beautiful shadows, better in person !!

I was hesitant about buying this palette full price, but when I saw it in person I knew I couldn’t wait. I have all of her motherships and this one is different, her last three motherships are my favorite.

Was really looking forward to having this palette as I love Pat McGrath but for the price it’s a let down. The glitter/shimmer shades fade and fall all over your face.

This one doesn't deserve the negative reviews

I bought this pallete at launch and the more I use it, the more I love it! Sienna Mystique is my favorite matte shade she has done thus far. I don't typically fall in love with the gold shade in her pallets but, Astral Gilded Aura is my favorite shade in the pallete, on the eyes it is really special. Blitz Crimson Ecstacy is really creamy/crumbly and once you get through that top layer it is not as crumbly so you get a more even application. I have all of the motherships and I am not disappointed at all. I continue to reach for this one frequently. If you love warm tones then you are going to really enjoy this pallete.

So so pretty in pink

I know this has mixed reviews (including a dud shade) but I LOVE this palette. The special shades are just that, special, and need to be applied special. I thought it might be too much like the other palettes and was ready to offload one or return this, but I love them all! palettes and

I personally love

I don't understand the complaints either? I only notice it is slightly drier on the matte shades but it's nothing detrimental or bad? I was able to make everything work no problem. This is also my 6th large Pat McGrath pallet. I personally love this one.

Omg Pat never misses. Especially with eyeshadow. It's beautiful!
